Hi, I’m Yana — welcome to my little corner of the internet. This site is exactly what it looks like: a warm, living place where I share the things I love and the things I’m figuring out. Faith, food, learning Korean, travel, the books I’m reading, and whatever else is on my heart at the moment. It’s not a brand or a business. It’s just my life, written down.
A little about me
I was born in Russia — I’m half Belarusian, with a bit of Romani in the mix — but Florida has been home since I was about twelve, so I’ve grown up here. I’m a single mom of two, which means most of my best stories happen somewhere between the kitchen and the chaos.
Above everything, I’m a Christian. My faith is the center of this whole site and the center of my life — Jesus is the most important thing to me, and you’ll see that thread running through almost everything I write. I’ve held onto Jeremiah 29:11 for a long time, and lately I’m standing on the truth that no weapon formed against me shall prosper.
What I’m into right now
I cook a lot. I’ve been deep in sourdough lately, making my own kimchi, and slowly working through a Korean cookbook one dish at a time. I’m also learning to cook Nigerian food so I can share that heritage with my daughter. On the side I’m learning the Korean language, reading my Bible daily, and completely fascinated by building things with AI — I actually built this entire website myself using Claude Code.
What I do
By day I work as a digital marketing manager — Google Ads, SEO, and full-funnel digital marketing are my world — so when I write about marketing or building with AI here, it’s coming from real, hands-on experience. The rest of the time I’m a mom, a home cook, and someone who genuinely loves learning new things in public.
Say hello
I love hearing from people who stumble in here. If something I wrote resonated, or you just want to say hi, email me at yana@markanamedia.com or find me on LinkedIn. I read everything.
